Location and Transportation

Location

Søminestationen, where the course will take place and where the students will stay, is a field station located in the Dragerup Forest (Dragerup Skov) 5 km east from Holbæk, Denmark. A former military facility, which was erected in the 19^th century and which is used now as a course center for academic purposes, provides space for teaching and accommodation. For lab experiments the station offers a laboratory. The Isefjord is only 30 m away from Somminestationen. So, besides academia, there are lots of possibilities for activities in the free time.

Accomodation

Full bedding is provided. Each sleeping room offers space/ beds for 2-4 persons. We hope you dont mind sharing the room with someone else. A plan of the house can be found here.

 

How to get there and Transportation

Transportation will be offered from Holbæk station to Søminestationen and back on Saturday 11th and 18th, respectively. Students have to manage the journey from Copenhagen Airport to Holbæk on their own. The course will start on Saturday 11th in the evening with get together and an course introduction and end on Saturday 18th around noon. The afternoon on the 11th and 18th are reserved for arrival/ departure at/ from Søminestationen. 

 

Please arrange your trip so that you arrive at Holbæk station between 1 and 6 pm on the 11th of August and are able to leave from Søminestationen between 1 and 6 pm on the 18th.  We will offer transportation every hour in these time intervals. Our bus has 9 seats. If more people arrive at the same time we will do several turns.
 

There are train/ bus connections available from Copenhagen airport to Holbæk station (it takes about 1:30 h). For available train connections please check out the following page: http://www.rejseplanen.dk/

Here is an example for a connection from Copenhagen airport to Holbæk station  on Saturday 11th and the way back on Saturday 18th. This connections are available every hour.

 Please write at what time you need transportation from Holbæk station to Søminestationen and back. In case that you cant make it in the time intervall offered please check the field “earlier” or “later". But this should be only in exceptional cases. We have to organize an extra transportation then. On Saturday 11th in the morning some students can also come with us from our institute in Copenhagen to Søminestationen (the number is limited since we have only 9 seats total in the bus). We will leave around 10 - 11 am.
