Biostatistics
The Biostatistics part of the group is located on the 6th floor of the main LIFE office building (find an elevator near the bookshop)
In biostatistics we cover research on several areas of statistics with special emphasis – both regarding research and teaching – on applications in biological and life sciences including bioinformatics. The research is based on and focused around relevant and realistic problems from biological and life sciences and consists of both development of theoretical statistical methods, applications of statistics analyses and in collaboration with researchers from both within the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Copenhagen as well as external researchers.
Current research areas cover bioinformatics, functional data analysis, survival analysis, image analysis, asymptotic statistics, mixed models and statistical computing. In addition, we have increased focus on chemometrical methods and multivariate statistics.
We teach several courses in statistics at bachelor, master and PhD levels.
