Agrohydrology and Ecotoxicology are added.

As of August 1, 2008, the department's name is: Department of Basic Sciences and Environment.

In Danish, the name is: Institut for Grundvidenskab og Miljø.

The acronym for the department - in Danish and English - is IGM.

 

The department was formerly called: Department of Natural Sciences, in Danish: Institut for Grundvidenskab; acronym IGV.

 

At the same time, IGM has been expanded with the research group Agrohydrology, (in Danish: Agrohydrologi), which is led by Professor Søren Hansen.

 

With the addition of Associate Professor Nina Cedergreen to the research group Soil and Environmental Chemistry, the department has also added the area of ecotoxicology to its profile.
